The Results of our Spud Experiments

So, as you may recall back at the end of May we planted a few potatoes in a bucket to see if we could manage to grow anything from them. Well on September 17 we decided to see the vegetables of our labor. After carefully picking through five gallons worth of soil, we managed to collect over four pounds of delicious fingerling potatoes! We were so excited and shocked by our results; we’re already planning on trying again next year with different varieties and staggering planting so we can enjoy potatoes all season long.

We made an excellent pot roast with our respectable harvest, and plan on using the rest to make some wonderful mashed potatoes.

Did you try the potato bucket this year? How did your gardens go? Let us know over on our Facebook page!
